Writing Career Help
<< GO BACK to questions

what other writing careers are there other than a journalist?

I'm looking at universities being in my second year of college and I've been looking at journalism and really it's just because I know that to be a writing career. I don't really like the radio/TV side, I just like the writing part and also the research part I guess. I was wondering if there is any other jobs that would be better for me as I mainly like the creative writing part. Also not an author as that isn't something you can really make a career out of.

All Answers To Questions

Answer 1

Many lawyers spend most of their time doing creative research and writing, although of course it is not fiction.

Answer 2

There are many careers that involve writing for a living outside or Journalism. You can write technical manuals, write for an Ad agency (commercials, print ads, copy), business writing (proposals etc.), weblog, opinion pieces etc. Think of what kind of writing you WANT to do, there's a market for it if you're good!
