In the business world what people think of you is very important. You are judged on many things and failure in any one thing can damage your career. Speaking is one of the first things people notice. What you say (slang, vulgarities, improper English) and how you say it (mumbling, thick accent, too loud/too quiet) is important. Writing is even more critical because it can be examined repeatedly and passed around. Spelling mistakes, punctuation mistakes and improper English will make you look bad. The business world is very competitive and you don't want people thinking poorly of you because of poor communication skills. Answer 2
The key to success in the business world is the ability to communicate. To be able to express your ideas clearly in proper English is a necessary business tool. You must be able to speak well, without slang ,poor grammar or swearing and you must also be able to express yourself in writing that is clear, appropriate, that does not use slang, that uses proper grammar and punctuation.
