What is the best way to get a Freelance writing career started?

I have done some freelance work through the web, but I want to pursue this as a full time career.....any suggestions? I have done work on all sorts of things, but I feel that Editorials would be my best route as well as some fiction....but to be honest I think I would be a great Editorial writer

All Answers To Questions

Answer 1

Maybe you could be a bit more specific. Most writers have a particular area of expertise (fiction, documentary, biography, satire, etc.). When you determine which area is your niche, your next step would be to research the type of publications that print your style of writing and what the requirements are for publication. Some magazines won't take any freelance work, but some are quite agreeable. It's a tough way to make a living. It's something I've wanted to do for years, but the need to eat won out over the need to create. Good luck!
