Is a career in public relations profitable?

I want to get into a public relations career, but I'm not sure if the job in general is profitable enough to support me and my (soon-to-be) family. I have a degree in communications and public relations from American University, but I have no experience in the field. What type of salary can I expect to get at first and over time as a PR specialist? Can I be financially comfortable in this career? Thanks!

Answer 1

Yes you can make good money in PR but it depends on your area as to how much you will make and the going salary. You can look below to find out specifics. If you are in a major metropolitan area you will make more than a rural area. The other thing is finding a large corporation or a PR firm to get started and move on from there. I have a friend who makes over $120,000 with a large corp. I hope this helps. Good luck
