I want to get into a public relations career, but I'm not sure if the job in general is profitable enough to support me and my (soon-to-be) family. I have a degree in communications and public relations from American University, but I have no experience in the field. What type of salary can I expect to get at first and over time as a PR specialist? Can I be financially comfortable in this career? Thanks!

If you are in a major metropolitan area you will make more than a rural area. The other thing is finding a large corporation or a PR firm to get started and move on from there.
