In America Which Universites Are Good For Creative Writing and English Literature Degrees?

In about two years time, I'll hopefully be studying Creative Writing and/or English Literaute in an American University. However, because I live in England my 'research' (for lack of a better word) is limited. Anywho, to start off with, I was wondering if you could give/recommend a list of American Universites with good Creative Writing and/or English Literature Courses so I can start looking at them and applying. It would be greatly appreciated, G2B

Answer 1

below is a list of colleges that offer those majors. Any liberal arts college will give you a good education in these majors. go to the web site and pull up the english department, read through the course required, read the professors bios, and see what student who have graduated with that major have gone on to do.

Answer 2

My research centered around the northeast area of the U.S., because I'm from New Jersey, but I was looking for the same thing you're looking for and I ended up attending Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland. It's a very small school, and it's somewhat isolated, but the literature and writing programs were excellent. The Creative Writing minor is taken seriously, which is not true with a lot of schools. Anyway, I don't want to sound like an ad, so I'll just leave you with the website... http://www.washcoll.edu/
