All Answers To Questions

Answer 1

Flipping burgers or cashiering at McDonalds. Can you say "Want fries with that?"

Answer 2

My roommate in college had that double major. She now works as a writer/layout artist/editor for a magazine in NY. To be honest (parents, look the other way!), your major is not setting in stone your career options. If that's what you're interested in, take the majors and just make sure to join clubs and try everything that interests you. Don't be afraid to change your mind later. I know maybe 5 people whose career matches their degree.

Answer 3

You can apply to law school with a philosophy degree (this is becoming very popular), or you could teach. With an English degree, teaching, advertising, and writing are all possibilities; however, if you wish to go into advertising, I suggest getting a minor in communications or something similar.

Answer 4

If you only get a BA in these, you will likely end up working at Starbucks. There are degrees you get for personal enrichment, not for merely getting a job. Most BA degrees are like that. COntrary to popular belief Universities are not trade schools. If you want a degree that will make you a living, take something that gives you a BSc. If you do take those, all they are good for is getting into law school or for getting a doctorate so you can be a college prof.
