Are there any degrees that do not require much writing or research?

I do not write research papers well, or any papers for that matter. I was wondering if there are any degrees (BA, MA, MS, PhD, etc.) that do not require much writing to graduate?

All Answers To Questions

Answer 1

You can get a degree in a musical instrument such as the piano or the french horn. I think that writing the papers would be easier than learning how to play an instrument that well though. Honestly even those classes would probably require some writing on music theory. I think your fear of writing papers is overblown though. Most universities will require you to take some kind of College Comp classes or Engl 101. The whole purpose of that class is to teach you to be a successful writer. No one expects you to enter college being able to write at the college level. Just take those classes first and you'll be fine.

Answer 2

Seconding the first answerer and adding--- not only English composition, but science, history, art, humanities, and social sciences all will require research papers. If you're planning on graduate school, they graduate school admissions committee's want to see a writing sample- sometimes 10 or more pages worth. You are going to have to be hard pressed to find a degree program with little or no writing requirements. However, you can become a better research paper writer with a little practice. If you are still in high school, just ask your teacher for some help, maybe ask for tutoring. If you are getting ready to go college the beginning English courses pretty much teach you how to construct a research paper. I hope it works out... =)

Answer 3

College is about learning how to do things you don't know how to do, not avoiding things you know you're bad at. There's no degree that will never require you to write a paper or do any sort of research, but you should definitely avoid a masters or PhD if you get through the bachelors and still can't write or do research. That's what those degrees are about. If you're seriously not going to learn how to write, avoid anything related to the humanities or sciences. Art or music might be your own choices but those usually require a portfolio or audition to get in.
