i did think about it because i thought it would be neat and interesting but i like photograpghy way better cuz one of my passions is taking pictures

If you are going for journalism, great. As far as different careers, there's a story for every one. I've written books, and my wife is a former journalist. I will say that journalism is not an easy career (or well-paying) particularly if you are in a small community. The reason is that there are usually relatively few media outlets, and if something goes wrong at the one you're at, you are out of options. A lot of local journalism really requires you spend time and know your community. As such, you just can't easily get a job six towns over (assuming you're in even that populated a place). I'm not going to dissuade you, just be warned.
